Cell phone coverage is spotty at the cabin.
12. Long distance calling cards to call from cabin. You can only find these at the Dollar General store.
13. Snacks that you are willing to share.
14. An expectation to grow spiritually and in fellowship with one another.
Looking forward to a spiritual and physical recharge this year during our Youth Bible Retreat. This years Bible retreat will be in Blue Ridge Georgia, which is very close to Chattanooga Tennessee. We will be staying in a cabin on the Toccoa River. Our Biblical focus this year is ‘dealing with peer pressure Biblically’.... which basically involves having the right view of God and a better understanding of our identity in Christ. We will be answering questions like...
(Do I fear men more than God? What are the dangers of peer pressure? What happens when I realize my identity is not wrapped up in others acceptance of me, but in Christ’s acceptance of me?)
...along with many more challenging Bible studies, messages and devotions.
What activities will youth be involved in? This year we are planning on a White-water rafting trip. Undoubtedly this produces fear in parents and excitement among youth. If you have any questions just ask..... I will be handing out a consent form a little closer to the trip. The cost for white-water rafting will be 41.00. We will also be tubing on the Toccoa River daily. NO ONE will be permitted to raft without a signed parent consent and a LIFE Preserver. This is a FREE activity. I will be buying 4 rafting tubes for people to use. If anyone would like to order their own just let me know. You can pick one up now at WalMart for 16.00. They are called River Run 1.
There is a hot tub and a pool table at the cabin.
Meals will be provided with the exception of times we will be required to eat out. We will eat 3 meals out as we travel. Youth will need enough money for three meals. The rest of the trip is free !!!!

DNOW Weekend
Dear Parents and Youth,
I am so excited to be writing you about our D-Now event! As you may now know we will be doing a D-Now on February the 18th, 19th, and the 20th. We will be looking into the life of Joseph and finding biblical principals to apply to our lives. These principals have to deal with jealousy, temptation, forgiveness, and faithfulness. Our youth face so much in their lives. They face temptation, times of jealousy, times of being hurt and wanting to hold a grudge, and especially times of thoughts about not staying faithful to God. We would love to be able to show them with you on how to deal with these things. During our D-Now we will have lessons about each one of these topics, as well as personal and host home devotions and discussions from the life of Joseph. Your teen will be staying at a host home so they will need to have changes of clothes and some sleeping materials. Most importantly your teen will need to bring their bible, pen or pencil, notebook, and a willingness to hear God’s word! We will be having a very fun Perfectracescavengerminuttowinit Contest! Don’t worry if you can’t read that! We have an exciting event planned and can not wait for your youth to participate! We also would like to tell you to feel free to come and participate in our worship times, to see how youth can come together and worship God!
Youth will need to bring a Bible, sleeping bag, pillow and enough clothes, toothpaste etc for 2 days. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me. 606-669-3692. Youth should not need any money for this weekend.
Thank You

Mission Trip 'What I need list'

I can't believe that it's time for our mission trip. I am very excited about it though. Giving teens an opportunity to serve God is much needed. Below I have answered a few questions that are often asked prior to trips. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.
How much money will they need?
Well, that depends on how much they like to eat. Just kidding, we will be eating out 3 times and also going to a water-park. Admission to the park is around 30.00 dollars.
I would guess 50-60 dollars would be enough. There are no other charges for the trip.
If this creates a hardship, let me know and we will work something out.
When are they leaving, returning?
We will leave New Hope at 7am on Sunday morning, June 13th. We will be returning sometime between 1-4pm on Friday June 18th.
What do they need to bring?
1. Bible, notebook
2. Clothes for a week. [shoot for modesty]
3. 12 pack of water
4. Sunscreen-
5. Fishing pole, if they like to fish.
6. Positive Christ centered attitude
7. Deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo etc.

Family Devotions / March Bible Study

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have posted the March youth bible review to the link below. Let me encourage you also to get together and do the Family devotions. I know it is hard to find the time, but let's be honest.... we tend to make time for the things that are our priority. Family devotions can seem awkward at times, but they are still extremely profitable. So be brave and give it a shot. God bless you guys!
