We need 'runners', don't worry, it doesn't involve real running..... just guiding the players through the signup and skills sessions. Try to be there around 8:50. Hey guys, just wanted to let you know about a little challenge that I issued to the youth Wednesday night. I gave them devotionals for 4 days and challenged them to do one of their devotions with you, that's right.... good old mom and dad. Hope you encourage them to follow through, you'll have an awesome time. You'll also be fulfilling scriptures.....

OK, who's the blonde with the flashlight? Does this picture bring back any memories? What an awesome time we had at VBS last year. The great thing is we get to do the same thing again this summer on our mission trip. It will be June 13th-17th. We will be helping out with VBS at New Clover Creek Baptist http://www.geocities.com/newclovercreek/ Many of you already know Joey Harness, Their pastor, from New Hope or from our summer bible retreat last summer. We will also be doing a 2 day backyard bible school. [Monday and Tuesday, during the early afternoon. I will be giving you much more info as we begin to prepare for this summer mission trip. AN IRISH WEDNESDAY...

This Wednesday Lauren will be sharing with us all that happened on her mission trip to Ireland. Come find out what teens are struggling with there and what similarities there are between our culture and ours, do they face the same spiritual stumbling blocks as you.....

What a wretch...... right?

Luk 15:12-13 And the younger of them said to his father, 'Father, give me the share of property that is coming to me.' And he divided his property between them. Not many days later, the younger son gathered all he had and took a journey into a far country, and there he squandered his property in reckless living.

The rebel, the villain, the bad guy in the parable right now, it's the younger son right?
He had publically humiliated his father, he had travelled into a gentile land, he had a small fortune in wasteful living.... in the eyes of the pharisees he was beyond redemption. Before Sunday night write a short paragraph that would illustrate what this son would look like in our culture. He would have been considered the worst of the worst, what would someone have to do to look like the worst of the worst to us?
